Founded as Manchester United F.C. in 1962,[2] the club was named in honor of the English club Manchester United, after the manager at the time, Sir Matt Busby, gave permission for the use of the name. Over the past 60 years playing in the Gibraltar Football League, Manchester 62 FC has won 7 league titles, 3 Rock Cups, 2 Pepe Reyes Cups and this past season won the 2022 Challenge Group Title. In 2013 The club changed their name to Manchester 62 FC, however, to this day they are still referred to as the Red Devils of Gibraltar.
