Lions Football Club was established during 1966, when a group of youngsters impressed by England’s World Cup Victory decided to form a club. The club’s founding member and first President, Mr. Alfred Sene, was a hands-on President who would also undertake the role of head coach for a spell as Lions challenged for the league title, a feat they still hope to accomplish.

Lions Gibraltar FC’s goal is to win the prestigious Gibraltar Football League shield in the first division as well as in all junior category leagues and cups. The club has also pledged it’s support to help produce local professional football players.

With their 60-year anniversary on the horizon, Lions Gibraltar FC has a focus on youth development, proudly sporting a host of teams ranging from U5’s to U16’s, an Intermediate team, Women’s team, Men’s Futsal team, Women’s Futsal team and a Men’s senior team.

Lions Gibraltar FC prides themselves on using their intermediate team as a vessel to develop grassroots players for their 1st team squad. They are a club who remains ambitious and looks to improve season-in-season-out while also diversifying off the football pitch by introducing other sports into the club such as Hockey and Pool (8-ball) as they look to develop into a sports social club for the benefit of the wider Gibraltar community.
